Press release

Filipp Jenikäe paints mainly in acrylic on canvas. He documents popular culture and the social dynamics of the cities he has lived in, setting his scenes in identifiable places — clubs, bars, private gardens, interiors.

The exhibition brings together eleven original paintings, among them “Napoli 1” (90 × 80 cm), “Tokyo Haruki Murakami” (120 × 120 cm), “Gu Hongzong when the night revels” (154 × 114 cm), “Transparent interior” (140 × 110 cm), “Sumitomo Townhouse with mountain and city view in spring Osaka” (148 × 150 cm), “Rio de Janeiro” (145 × 101 cm), “Cobra Bar Bangkok” (198 × 155 cm), “Lisboa” (138 × 130 cm), “Hokusai Wave” (110 × 80 cm), “Shinjuku Tokyo” (120 × 80 cm) and “Amsterdam Art Nouveau” (90 × 130 cm).

Five signed and numbered limited editions, each 50 × 70 cm, accompany the hang: “Transparent interior”, “Marcelus Weierich Interior”, “Living Room and San Francisco”, “Yosemite California” and “Gapstow Bridge”.

An exhibition supported by Château Desmirail.
