The Institut Culturel Bernard Magrez devotes to the French artist Jofo an exhibition that traces thirty-five years of work in every direction, letting the visitor follow the construction of a singular, total body of work — colourful, exalted, and forcefully mixing art and life.

This carte blanche also reads as a form of recognition for an artist who chose the South-West as his elective artistic ground and made Bordeaux his base.

Some 140 works — paintings, drawings and sculptures — selected from the artist’s private collection show how his art developed from the late 1980s to the present day.

With “35 Tours”, the artist invites us to look in the rear-view mirror — a nod to mod culture and its furious scooters — and watch the intertwined threads of his life and his art unwind.
